Although we all excitedly wait for the Sunday
mashewe fest with the family, this week we’re feeling a new thing. Relish in international tastes of the world right here in Lebanon, and try something different tomorrow:
French cuisine: Cocteau This place is one of the best French restaurants in town, they serve the most succulent steak we’ve ever had. For a different type of meat, the smoked salmon with Teryaki sauce and rice will also induce a burst of flavors in your mouth that will keep you coming back every week for a taste of France.
Italian cuisine: Matto Pasta has a special place in my heart, mix that with truffle-based sauce, and we’ve got a winner! Making a recent addition to the Lebanese restaurant scene, this place might just be the best Italian touch we’ve ever had. The Porcini e Tartufo is heavenly, to say the least.
Armenian cuisine: Mayrig You can’t go to Mayrig without tasting the Mante. The dish basically consists of minced meat dumplings, tomato sauce and yogurt, you know the usual Armenian delicacy.
Japenese cuisine: DON Eatery Ramen as far as the eye can see; mix and match your own preferences to create a piece of paradise in a bowl. Mouth-watering comfort food here to erase all your woes.
Peruvian cuisine: Sapa Beirut The ceviche rolls, a delicious mix of crab, breaded shrimp, red pepper, rice and nori paper, all rolled in sea bass and marinated in spicy lime are absolutely tantalizing, in addition to the shrimp Halloumi rolls, the truffle pizza, and just about everything on this menu. Dying to go to Peru yet? Sapa’s got you covered in the food department!
Indian cuisine: Jai Kitchen Jai will make you feel like you’re in the far east in a heartbeat with their to-die-for Indian onion bhajis with coriander and mint yoghurt starter.
Hawaiian cuisine: Malolo Our favorite at Malolo is the Salmon Poké, that comes with fresh salmon, avocado, mango, coriander and jalapeños. The bowl comes in different sizes; but we don’t need to tell you that “good things come in small packages” will definitely not apply here.
American cuisine: The Butcher’s BBQ Joint The notorious P.I.G sandwich is all you need to indulge in a true American burger dripping with juicy smoked pulled pork, slaw and sauce. This place provides both taste good and feel good atmosphere, because there’s nothing a burger won’t fix.
German cuisine: Munchen Pub-Resto You must try the Wienerschnitzel schnitzel pork for an authentic German cuisine experience, even the waiters and the vibe of the place will compliment your pseudo night abroad quite greatly.
