Step Into The Abandoned (And Creepy) Amrieh Hotel With Us

Have you ever wondered what a Lebanese Ghostbusters would look like? Well, neither have we. But if there’s one thing we’re certain of, it’s that it should definitely be set at the abandoned Amrieh Hotel in Bekfaya.

Built during Lebanon’s “Golden 60s,” the hotel was abandoned with the onset of the civil war in 1975. Since then, it has continued to haunt the area, its ruins sitting as a relic of a lost future. Its luxurious Tsar Hall is said to have welcomed crowds looking to be serenaded by the majesty of Oum Kalthoum, and today, if you pay enough attention, you can still hear voices echoing through its halls.

Filled with intensely weird vibes, the hotel’s abandoned rooms are filled with an eerie gloom that will creep out even the toughest of explorers. The hotel’s owner is buried close in a nearby church, while an adjoining theatre and cinema complex (which was too creepy for our TikTok team) sits next to the abandoned hotel.

Considered to be one of the top 10 haunted places in Lebanon, this abandoned hotel truly lives up to the hype.
