10 Gems To Uncover In The Magical Town Of Hadchit

Tucked away in the Bsharri District in North Lebanon, Hadchit is one of the most beautiful villages in Lebanon, filled with hidden gems ready for you to uncover.

If you’re planning a trip to this wonderful town, here are a few spots that will show you why it is so special.

1. St. Elias Mountain

2. Statue of the Roman Emperor

You can’t stop by Hadchit without paying a visit to the Roman Emperor (who is missing his head). The statue was discovered after the townspeople wanted to build a church in the location where it had been buried. After the church collapsed multiple times, it was decided that the statue was the reason behind this occurrence, and so they removed the statue, cut off its head, and placed it in the courtyard so that the land would prosper.

3. The traditional mill

One of Hadchit’s most beautiful touristic sites where you can catch a glimpse of Qannoubine Valley.

4. The village freshwater fountain

Take a sip of fresh water from the village fountain for a rustic and unmatched experience.

5. Abou Charbel Restaurant

Serving delectable Lebanese dishes, Abou Charbel will not only satisfy your hunger but also your thirst for gorgeous views.

6. Golden Nights Restaurant

Another local favorite where you can have a true ‘day3a’ experience.

7. The Sheer

Another location to experience a view like no other. You will have an expanse of greenery and a sky full of clouds, as far as the eye can see.

8. St. Raymond

The ancient church is a marvellous structure worth visiting, situated on the edge of the cliff overlooking the valley.

9. The old fortress

Yet another site for those who love history. The fortress remains one of the town’s most important historic structures.

10. Houlat Valley

Part magnificent Qadisha Valley, Houlat Valley boasts views that will soothe your souls and reconnect you to nature. You will also find sweet smelling incense and some of the most beautiful burners in the world.
