Dazed MENA Drops an Iconic Edit about the Shabjdeed and Saint Levant Beef
We don’t think we’ve ever seen an edit on Dazed MENA’s official Instagram account, but there’s a first for everything.
Following Palestinian rapper Shabjdeed’s recent diss track, “SLV,” aimed at singer Saint Levant, the publication shared an edit set to Charli XCX’s Girl, so confusing…and it couldn’t be more fitting.
Released in late July, “SLV” sparked widespread discussion online. In the track, Shabjdeed takes aim at Saint Levant, accusing him of commercializing Palestinian identity, prioritizing global success over authenticity, and presenting a version of Palestine that feels disconnected from its reality.
Beyond those criticisms, he also mocks Saint Levant’s image, stage name, and lyrical themes, taking jabs at his focus on romance and questioning the authenticity of his public persona. Dazed MENA’s tongue-in-cheek edit only made the situation funnier. If you haven’t listened to the full diss track, here it is:
