This Amazing National Campaign Is Collecting One Million Books to Rebuild Lebanon’s Damaged Libraries

Talid, the National Network for the Protection of Libraries, Archives and Cultural Heritage in Lebanon, is launching a nationwide campaign to collect one million books in order to rebuild libraries damaged by enemy attacks and return books to communities where they have been lost.

The campaign officially launches on Thursday, September 17 at 5 PM at the National Library in Baakline, kicking off the initiative from Chouf. The invitation is open to everyone: publishers, libraries, universities, schools, municipalities, associations, and individuals who believe that books are an essential part of memory, everyday life, and people’s right to knowledge.

You can take part by donating books, spreading the word about the campaign, or encouraging others to contribute.

Book donations are also being accepted at Barzakh in Hamra as part of the campaign. Anyone wishing to contribute can get in touch with them through their social media direct messages.
