Lebanese Police Are Above the Law

Originally posted by Naji Abboud and later published to the appropriately named facebook group Cheyef 7alak, this photo, taken at the Beirut Airport, embodies all that is wrong with Lebanon. When law enforcement break the rules which they themselves stand for, what prevents common civilians from doing the same? The no smoking policy was created for a reason, and yet officers – who’s job it is to carry out laws – seem to think they are above it.

I find this to be a completely disrespectful and in your face display of “I’m-better-than-you”. It’s people like this that make it so hard to change the things that need changing. A gigantic F*** you to this asshole. Ugh.
