Post-edit: Coop D’Etat did NOT re-open in Gemmayze, instead they have moved to Hamra Urban Gardens.
After sustaining major damages in the Beirut port blast, Coop D’Etat is finally up and running again.
One of the city’s coolest and chillest rooftops, Coop D’Etat has long been a staple for fun nights out.
The Gemmayze gem gained fame for its laid back ambiance and dim red lights. It’s perfect for small gatherings and casual dates, offering awesome music, refreshing drinks, and a magnificent view of the coastline.
On August 4, Coop D’Etat was massively destroyed by the force of the explosion. They posted pictures of the destruction on their Instagram with a heartfelt caption announcing that they would not rebuild as to not benefit those in power with bribes and taxes anymore.
But with the help and support of local fundraisers, the rooftop bar is back in business and stronger than ever.
They’re counting on you to stand tall again during these difficult times so make sure to drop by for their Merry Funky Christmas event, happening this Friday.
Stay safe and enjoy!
