In Pictures: Lebanon’s Ski Seasons In The 70s

Lebanon is renowned for being the only Arab country without a desert and having a strong winter season, which stands as one of the most crucial tourist seasons in Lebanon. Let’s admit it, the beauty of Kfardebian, one of the most awe-inspiring snowy tourist areas, makes it unsurprising that it was crowned the Arab Winter Tourism Capital for 2024. Many will remember that the snow in Lebanon was distinct in the old days; the season arrived earlier, was more intense, and snowfall was incessant. However, due to global climate and environmental changes, we now witness sunny days that would have previously been characterized by blizzards, and the skiing season is anticipated to begin in late January or February. Today, we’ve chosen to delve into the archives of the Old Beirut account and collectively appreciate images of Lebanon’s snowy season from the 70s.
