Nadine Njeim Sparks Controversy Over Viral Elevator Incident

Lebanese actor and former Miss Lebanon titleholder Nadine Nassib Njeim sparked controversy this weekend after posting a video she claimed recorded an instance of harassment in an elevator. Here’s a breakdown of what happened and how people reacted to her video.

What Happened?

The video shows Nadine recording herself during an interaction with a food delivery driver. He is first seen entering the building and heading to the elevator while Nadine remains in the parking area. Moments later, he steps back out and asks if she’s also heading up, seemingly offering to wait for her. Nadine declines.

In a separate clip, she is seen inside the elevator asking the driver to step out and take the next lift instead.

The Plot Thickens…

In a follow-up video, Nadine explains the situation further. She says the driver initially went into the elevator ahead of her, then came back to hold the door. Nadine found this suspicious and started recording the interaction.

She adds that service workers usually have separate elevators from employees and “seniors.” Nadine continues, saying if you saw “shakhes b foot bel motocycle taba3o l m7arta2” (which loosely translates to someone coming in with a busted-up motorcycle) and you didn’t know them, you’d feel suspicious too.

She also clarifies that the delivery driver in the second clip is a different person from the one in the first interaction.

The Aftermath

Opinions on the video sparked even more controversy. Some praised Nadine Nassib Njeim for being cautious and aware of her surroundings. One X user had this to say:

Others criticized Nadine for being rude to the driver by asking him to leave the elevator and wait for the next one.

They also called out her comments about designated elevators and the phrase “motocycle taba3o l m7arta2” as extremely classist. Many accused her statements and actions of being disrespectful toward someone who might have just been polite—or even a fan.
