Qasr El Ahlam: The Dreamy Colorful Castle You Didn’t Know Existed In Lebanon

Tucked away in the village of Bakhoun is a beautiful and mesmerizing castle.

Qasr el Ahlam, a masterpiece and major attraction in Dennieh Casa, is the lifework of Lebanese visionary Mohamad Hawchar, who collected stones from all over the world to assemble it. The gorgeous castle took 25 years to build, and stands today as an architectural piece of art in the heart of Lebanon.


Needless to say, Qasr el Ahlam is a must-visit. Take a leisurely stroll through the castle’s hallways, contemplate the palace works and antiques, and take beautiful memorable pictures.


A living piece of history, the palace was built in 1991. Its two floors are covered with mosaics and colored stones, adding life and edge to this beautiful palace of dreams.
