These Lebanese Students Are Working On Finding Coronavirus Cure In France

In a video shared to Twitter, President Emmanuel Macron addresses a group of international doctors and students partaking in the research process for finding a cure for the coronavirus in Marseille, France.

Among the crowd was a group of Lebanese students who were beyond ecstatic to inform the president of their original whereabouts and where they come from. You can hear several of them replying with “Liban” when President Macron asks where they’re from.

The doctors were identified as Amanda Chamieh, Rania Francis, Gabriel Haddad, Rita Jaafar, Lina Abou Chacra, Reem Abdalla, Rita Zgheib, Ahmad Ibrahim, and Reem Iwaza, all of whom are part of Professeur Didier Raoult’s team, a French physician and microbiologist leading the research on finding a coronavirus vaccine in France.

It’s a true shame that our youngest and brightest minds always end up abroad, where their potential is rightfully explored and utilized. We’re still very proud of them!
