6 Stunning Old Souks To Visit Around Lebanon

Rediscover Lebanon’s history and visit stunning old souks that will make you fall in love with towns and cities all over again! While Lebanon is riddled with a ton of old markets, here are six to start you off.


1. Batroun Souk

Gorgeous narrow streets and a historic marketplace!


This is the place to be on a sunny day! Walk through the streets of Batroun’s old souk and sip on some of their famous ice cold lemonade. Batroun’s souks have many gems, one of them being the tasty brioche at Koko’s that is a must try!

You can always go a bit out of your way and explore the Phoenician Wall at sunset. The view is to die for!




2. Tripoli Souk

The second largest city in Lebanon and beyond rich in history and culture.


This is a Souk you should NOT miss out on. Tripoli’s Souk is known to be the largest in Lebanon, containing nine other souks within! Soaps, clothes, jewelry, and a ton of food will make a stroll through this souk a heavenly experience!


3. Souk Saida

Known for tight alleyways and delicious sweets, Saida’s Souk is a must-visit.


The go-to place for all that is handmade! There’s never a dull day in this souk! Enjoy the amazing colours that beautify the city, and don’t forget to buy yourself some of their handmade soaps and beach towels.


4. Souk Douma

The Souk you’re going to want to escape to every once in a while.


The traditional ambiences at Douma’s Old Souk are unmatched! You can shop for local mouneh, or even just wander the streets to get a breath of fresh air.


5. Souk Byblos

A favorite seaside spot!


Roam the streets, grab a coffee, and boat watch along the port. The famous souk is known for its artisanal places and traditional shops that everyone loves to visit!


6. Souk Rachaya

Dating back to the 17th century, Souk Rachaya is known to be the oldest souk in Lebanon.


Wander the spacious, traditional streets and marvel at the old architecture while you gather some local delights.
