200,000 Lebanese People Have Reportedly Left The Country Since 2018

Founder and managing partner of Information International Jawad Adra has shared a tweet revealing that nearly 200,000 Lebanese people have left the country since 2018.

Information International is a Beirut-based research and consultancy firm that conducts survey research and database collection in the Arab World.

Back in August, AUB’s Crisis Observatory stated that Lebanon had witnessed an alarming rate of emigration, and the crisis-hit nation still lacks a sustainable recovery plan. The situation has turned life in Lebanon into a fight for survival with over 74% of the total population delving into poverty.

This mass exodus has taken place amid an excruciating economic crisis, compounded political and social crises, and no end in sight for the current deadlock.

Despite the fact that many of us have our doubts as to how transparent the upcoming elections will be, please show up to vote the current ruling class out — it is our chance at change.
