Is breakfast the most important meal of the day? You're goddamn right it is.
My ideal breakfast includes coffee, bacon, fried eggs, tomatoes, sharp cheddar, freshly squeezed orange juice, a Belgian waffle topped with nutella and bananas, real maple syrup, hash browns, rye toast burnt to a crisp and a copy of the New York Times newspaper.
Enough about me. Want to eat one of the best breakfasts in the world? Then, according to CNN, just head over to West Beirut. Al Soussi's pint-size kitchen takes the top spot on the American news site's list of best breakfasts across the world, citing the restaurant's fatteh dish made with layers of toasted pita, chickpeas, yogurt and pine nuts.
Breakfast = the best. And we are super proud that a local favorite like Soussi is getting international recognition for its kickass take on the Lebanese breakfast.
