Tired of Beirut Airport Taxi Chaos? Here’s the Official Price List You Should Know About

Landing at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport is an experience often ruined by having to negotiate taxi fares after a flight. In order to make airport transportation more transparent, the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works has published official fare guidelines from Beirut Airport to destinations across Lebanon.

For trips from the airport to Beirut and its suburbs, the official fare starts at $18 during daytime hours (6:00 AM – 10:00 PM) and $22 between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

The fare list also includes rates to destinations across the country, from Tripoli and Batroun in the north to Tyre, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil in the south, as well as major areas in Mount Lebanon and the Bekaa.

For example:

  • Jounieh: $27 daytime / $31 nighttime
  • Byblos (Jbeil): $43 daytime / $47 nighttime
  • Tripoli: $80 daytime / $87 nighttime
  • Tyre (Sour): $76 daytime / $84 nighttime
  • Sidon (Saida): $49 daytime / $54 nighttime
  • Baalbek: $86 daytime / $94 nighttime
  • Broumana: $27 daytime / $31 nighttime

According to the fare list, prices may vary slightly depending on factors such as passenger requests, route changes, or additional waiting time, but travelers should use these figures as a reference point when arranging transportation from the airport. For example, waiting fares are charged at $4/hour.

While many passengers choose ride-hailing apps or pre-arranged transfers, knowing the official rates can help visitors avoid confusion and unexpected charges after arriving in Lebanon.

If you’re arriving at Beirut Airport soon, it may be worth checking out the Ministry’s official fare list before your trip. A little preparation could save you both time and money.
