Nidaa Abou Mrad at The Beirut Chants Festival 2013.

Abou Mrad (Ph.D in Musicology and Medical Doctor) is known as a scholar researcher and a violin player and composer in the Arabic Art music tradition of the Levant (Mashriq).

With 19 audio CDs and published articles in refereed scientific journals and encyclopedias, he is a regular guest in international music festivals.

His Beirut Chants’ concert includes Modal chants of mašriqian type taken from the Gospel of Saint Luke, the Christmas musical traditions of Maronite and Orthodox Churches Performed by the Arabic Classical Music Ensemble of the Antonine University, with with the participation of Mohamad Ayach (chanting and ‘ūd), Naim Asmar and Mikayel Hourani (chanting), and Ghassan Sahhab (qanun).
