Stereo Club Nights Are Back Again

On December 21, one of Beirut’s major party series, Stereo Club Nights, will be making a long-anticipated return to the ever-lively nightlife scene after a lengthy absence.

Stereo Club Nights was created by the team behind the equally popular Underrated Presents parties in March of 2013, after noticing a significant gap in the Beirut house music scene. They organized various successful events throughout this past summer, which featured both local and international DJs, much to the excitement of their regular patrons. Things came to an abrupt halt however when they hit a snag in August, and without a venue, had no choice but to put their parties on hold for a brief hiatus.

This wasn’t enough for the team to call it quits, as they shifted their focus towards Underrated Presents, hosting various events, such as rooftop pool parties under the label Wet, held every Sunday. Fort the past 2 months, Cyril Bitar, head of marketing and bookings at Underrated Presents and Stereo Club Nights, has been abroad, establishing Underrated Presents in Los Angeles, where they recently launched Clinic, their first event series off Lebanese soil. As for Stereo Club Nights, the team felt they needed to regroup and reshuffle their cards before making a comeback. “We’re very confident about our winter launch now,” says co-organizer Cyril Bitar.

The frigid nights of December are a far cry from those hot summer evenings that started it all, so Stereo Club Nights’ return to the scene will see them take the party underground to Yukunkun, an intimate Gemmayzeh-based venue with a capacity of around 400. “We saw it as the perfect place for our music and our vibe. It’s going to be a lot of fun, I’ll tell you that,” says Bitar.
