Alfa’s New eSIM: Prices And How It Works
Apple’s launch of the iPhone 14 has triggered a wave of eSIM adoption as the new devices will only have eSIM functionality in the US. Despite the fact that the company is adding physical SIM slots in the global devices, this has paved the way for eSIM adoption around the world. And it seems like we are finally catching up.
This morning, Alfa revealed the new prices of their eSIM services, now available for all subscribers. Here are some details:
Prices:
– For a new Prepaid line: $7 (VAT. Excluded)
– For a new Postpaid line: $16.67 (VAT. Excluded)
If you are an Alfa subscriber, whether Prepaid or Postpaid, you can replace your existing SIM card with an eSIM for a one-time fee of $1.67 (VAT. Excluded)
How to get one:
– Visit of the Alfa stores with your ID or passport and purchase the QR code.
– Scan the QR code with a device that supports eSIM
– Congrats, you now have an eSIM
This also allows you to retain your physical SIM line and get multiple eSIMs on your device.
From a user’s perspective, an eSIM has many advantages such as allowing the seamless switching between mobile networks, allowing you to have more than one SIM and number, and enabling smoother device setup. Also: can you imagine no longer needing to open the pesky SIM tray?
