Lebanon’s beloved farmers market Souk El Tayeb has stepped in with a wonderful initiative called Matbakh El Kell. Through this initiative, they’ve been providing thousands of nutritious meals for the displaced—4,500 a day to be exact.
Since the beginning of the war, their team has been dedicated to supporting those affected by the war. In the past month, they’ve been able to make approximately 141,000 meals so far thanks to generous donations.
The best part about this initiative is that the farmers market also supports local farmers and producers. So their meals are all locally sourced! Their goal is to not only provide nutritious meals but also a taste of home. Preparing home-cooked meals that we all know and love so the displaced can find comfort and familiarity.
If you would like to join their passionate circle of volunteers, reach out to them via the WhatsApp link in their bio or on +961 81 266 060.
Despite the widespread destruction in the country, this initiative stands as a testament to the resilience of Lebanese people in the face of adversity. In times of war and displacement, the efforts of Souk El Tayeb exemplify solidarity and community.
