Is Beirut’s Kissproof Finally Making a Comeback?

For anyone who spent evenings in Beirut, the name Kissproof probably brings back a few memories. The cozy all-day pub earned a loyal following for its cocktails, laid-back atmosphere, and a tiny menu that somehow delivered one of Beirut’s most talked-about burgers.

Recent activity on social media has people wondering whether Kissproof could be making a return. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, their recent post has certainly caught our attention.

If the beloved Badaro spot does return, there’s one menu item many Beirut foodies will be hoping makes a comeback too. The Royale With Cheese wasn’t just another cheeseburger. Built with a juicy beef patty, caramelized onions, dill pickles, and creamy Kewpie mayo inside a soft bun, it quickly became one of the city’s most beloved burgers.

Many even compared it to the iconic Happy Prince burger, making it a nostalgic favorite long after The Happy Prince closed (then reopened as The Terrible Prince).

Beyond the burger, Kissproof also stood out for its thoughtful, compact menu. Dishes like the smoked areesheh labneh with crusty bread, charred corn salad, and comforting grilled cheese sandwich proved that simple food could still leave a lasting impression.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see whether these teasers lead to an official reopening. Until then, Beirut’s burger lovers can only hope that the Royale With Cheese is getting ready for another round. Make sure to follow Kissproof on Instagram for updates!
