Rumman Music Festival Is Bringing Two Nights of Experimental Sounds to Tripoli

If you’re looking for a reason to head to Tripoli this weekend, Rumman Music Festival is a pretty good one.

The fifth edition of Rumman Music Festival is taking place on September 4 and 5 at Stereo Kawalis in Mina, bringing together artists from across the region for two nights of live music.

This year’s edition brings together a tapestry of musicians, cultural workers, and creatives from Tripoli, the South, and across the Arab region, creating a space for their different sounds and perspectives to meet. The lineup also keeps things interesting, moving between experimental sounds, Arabic music, hip-hop, rap, indie, and shaaby.

Friday, September 4

The first night leans into post-folk, free-rock, experimental ambient, and Arabic experimental music. The lineup includes SANAM, ALSILK, SHAM LHAWA, and BLACK MOUSE: DECONSTRUCTED. It’s a night for anyone who likes their live music a little less predictable, with different sounds coming together under one roof.

Saturday, September 5

Saturday switches things up with a lineup rooted in Arabic hip-hop, rap, alt rap, alt pop, indie, and shaaby. Performances will come from EMSALLAM, MA-BEYN, JAMUL, and BILEL.

Whether you’re coming for a specific artist or just want to discover something new, Rumman is a chance to spend a night listening to some of the region’s newer and more experimental voices.
