Activist Lucien Bourjeily Was Detained… For Having Paint Balloons In His Car

Last night, activist Lucien Bourjeily confimed that he was arrested by state security at a checkpoint in Badaro for carrying paint balloons and anti-government posters and slogans in the trunk of his car.

He was released a few hours later after several lawyers voluntarily intervened to get him out.

“I felt like I am in a surreal movie scene. Some people in this country walk around with their weapons, the borders are open and illegal smuggling is happening right in front of our eyes… yet, we still get arrested for carrying paint balloons and slogans against the ruling thieves,” said Bourjeily in his social media post.

This comes amid a crackdown on activists and protestors, while the ruling leaders are yet to be held accountable for their corruption, thefts, oh – and blowing up the port.

Guess paint balloons are more dangerous than ammonium nitrate nowadays.
