Lebanese Army To Give $150 Tourist Helicopter Rides

Did you think we had reached peak surrealism? Nah.

“See Lebanon from above!” In order to generate income, the Lebanese Army has announced that they are offering touristic helicopter rides over Lebanon for $150 cash.

What does $150 joyride get you, you ask?

– A 15-minute trip aboard the Raven helicopters

– A maximum of 3 people can ride at once

– Anyone over 3 years of age is allowed

The trips are set to launch from the Amchit and Riyaq bases.

The Lebanese Army is one of many state institutions that has been hard hit by the economic crisis, with most soldiers making the equivalent of $70 a month due to the currency devaluation.

While this is certainly innovative and a good use of assets that are not being used for the most part, it definitely begs the question: where will you be getting fuel for the helicopters?
