Nearly 20 Young Girls & Women Missing in Lebanon in Just Over 2 Months — Public Concern Sparks ISF Response

Over the past few weeks, Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) missing persons page has been flooded with new alerts, the majority of which involve young girls and women.

From mid-June to early August 2025, more than 18 women and girls have been reported missing nationwide, all of whom disappeared in separate incidents. Most were born between 2000 and 2005, with the youngest just 15 years old.

These disappearances span various parts of Lebanon, from Beirut to Tripoli to Baalbek and Bekfaya, and while each alert is issued individually, the sheer frequency has raised alarm among social media users.

On August 13th, 2025, the ISF issued a statement on social media denying rumors of kidnapping gangs operating in Lebanon. The agency said the majority of recent missing-person cases are linked to personal or family circumstances, rather than organized crime.

While Lebanon has seen periodic missing persons alerts in the past, the volume in such a short window, and the fact that so many are young women, has sparked speculation and concern. Families are left desperate for answers, and the public is calling for transparency, investigation updates, and preventative measures.

Anyone with information on these cases is urged to call the ISF hotline (1745).
