Natsu Matsuri 2025: Lebanon’s Biggest Anime Convention Is Back!

Did you know that Lebanon hosts huge anime conventions? The anime and cosplay community in Lebanon might be small, but every year, it seems to grow tenfold as more and more people learn about it.

This weekend, Natsu Matsuri 2025 (which literally means Summer Festival in Japanese) is bringing a two-day hub of all things anime, gaming, and Japanese culture.

Here’s what to expect at Natsu Matsuri 2025

The festival welcomes adults and kids alike, and you don’t even have to be a hardcore weeb to enjoy the event. You can expect a number of exciting performances from local talents, including live music, dance routines, and cosplay skits that bring favorite characters to life.

Every festival, the organizers invite the Middle East Warriorz for an amazing calisthenics performance, adding high-energy stunts to the lineup.

Meanwhile, the artist alley showcases local creators selling artwork, charms, and quirky merchandise. Food stalls serve Japanese treats like takoyaki, matcha desserts, and bubble tea to keep everyone energized. Gaming zones let attendees try video games, board games, and fun competitions throughout the two days.

What about the cosplayers?

In case you’re not familiar, cosplaying is basically when you dress up as your favorite character. It doesn’t even have to be from an anime, since many people show up in cool cosplays from their favorite video games too!

Cosplay is a big part of the fun, and watching people bring their favorite characters to life is a treat.
Plus, there’s a cosplay contest where fans of all ages can compete for prizes (and bragging rights).

A lot of people actually make their cosplays from scratch, including making props, styling wigs, and sewing garments.

This year’s judges include an international line-up. Sylar, Chris, and Zyad are some of the most iconic cosplayers in the Middle East, bringing years of experience and creativity to the panel.

And like every festival, our very own Lebanese cos-pioneer Jackie is organizing and hosting the cosplay competition. They’ll be evaluating the cosplay contest, giving feedback, and cheering on participants of all ages. Make sure to stop by and say hi!
