Beit El Captain Is Back: A Farm-to-Table Forest Escape in Lebanon’s Mountains

Our favorite way to escape the city is heading to one of Lebanon’s farm-to-table spots tucked away in the mountains. The beloved seasonal destination Beit El Captain is back for summer, offering cool air, sweeping forest views, and food worth making the drive for.

Tucked into the forests of Zeghrine at around 1,050 meters above sea level, the restaurant feels worlds away from Beirut; surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the kind of quiet you forget exists.

Known as “The Lebanese Food House,” Beit El Captain takes its farm-to-table ethos seriously. Everything is homemade and seasonal: think classic mezza, house-made baladi cheeses, fresh aricheh, and traditional Lebanese recipes prepared with local produce. It’s the kind of food that tastes like someone’s teta made it because at this family business, it is likely that that’s true.

Between the mountain air, the forest views, and a spread like that, it’s easy to see why people make the trip every single summer.

Drop by for a scenic lunch, a leisurely dinner, and unforgettable afternoons accented by natural scapes and fresh mountain air.

Beit El Captain is open daily from 12 PM until midnight. For reservations and more information, you can give them a call on +961 3 811 867.
