The concept of onomatopoeia was first introduced into modern culture as early as the 1960’s, when expressions such as ‘whaam’, ‘splut’, ‘pow’ and ‘houyhnhnms’ started appearing in comic strips (Garfield), television series (Batman), literature (Gulliver’s Travels) and modern art (Lichtenstein’s paintings).
Located in the neighbourhood of sioufi, onomatopoeia is a music hub set in a calm remote area of Achrafieh, far from the daily and extenuating hubbub of the city. The space has both indoor and outdoor facilities, which allows it to function throughout the year.
