There’s nothing like discovering new areas in our beloved country, and uncovering a bunch of new activities to try in each of them. This time our heart led us to Akoura, the mountainous Lebanese village in the Jbeil District, known for its captivating natural beauty and its natural pyramids.
Let’s see what plethora of activities you can try in Akoura:
1. Al Rweiss Cave This is the third largest cave in Lebanon, and one of the coolest places you can visit in Akoura. Try your hand at caving and uncover the otherworldly areas below.
2. Hiking There are many paths to hike along in Akoura, all of which you can uncover along the historic and natural regions of the village. Be sure to hike along the Saydet el Habs cliffs which will give you breathtaking panoramic views.
3. Akoura River There’s nothing like a refreshing dip in a cold river!
4. Camping Spend the night under the moonlight and the clear skies of this area, and be sure to wake up in time to catch the sunrise from the highest point in the village.
5. St. Peter and Paul Church This historic and breathtaking church is carved into rock and contains sarcophagi, gold and silver coins from the Roman era.
