Meghrak: Escape Into The Woods With This Charming House In Lebanon

This is not a drill.

This is a real picture from Lebanon.

Meet Meghrak, a town in the Batroun district, that dates back 200 years.

The name is related to its story, because every winter this house gets submerged with water. (Meghrak is an arabic word that comes from the verb drowning or submerged).

The house belongs to a Lebanese doctor, who decided to open the place to the public after returning from the USA. Yes! You can actually spend the day at this magical location.

You can book a table (for a mere 15,000 LBP per person) and bring with you your favorite dishes. And also because the atmosphere is just calling out for mashewe, they’ll provide you with a barbecue so you can grill all the lahme and tawouk. And if you don’t feel like getting your own food, a certain food formula can be arranged.

The place also provides overnight options, where you can camp out and bring your own tent for 25,000 LBP per person during weekdays and 30,000 LBP per person during the weekend.

You need to call prior to attending to reserve your spots. Other than picnics, camping, and even photoshoots, you can have your wedding there (or other events which they can provide the catering to). Electricity, water, bathrooms and a concierge are available at all times to accommodate your stay.

With the weather clearing up, an escape to this serene and breathtaking place is all you need.

Just imagine those majestic trees towering above you and shading the area from the soft sun rays, the lake beside you complimenting the spot quite beautifully, and with the historic backstory of the place, Meghrak is sure to make all your staycation in the woods dreams come true.

And to top it all off, it’s animal friendly! So you can bring all your furry friends along with you!
