A Kilo Of Snoubar Is Over 1 Million Lira
Do you remember last April when we found out that one kilo of Snoubar Baladi was going for 225,000 LL, and we were very taken aback? Well, we’re here to say rizkallah because the new pricing has us shook to the core.
One kilo of Snoubar Baladi (local pine nuts) is currently being priced at a staggering 1,050,000 LL. We called two local roasters which verified this insane price with mild variations between each. One of them gave us the option to pay in fresh dollars amounting to $75 then he laughed and we laughed and we abruptly hung up.
During the first week of March, the kilo was priced at 675,000 LL, only for it to jump 55% to surpass the million Lira mark. And in true Lebanese fashion, the jokes have been relentless:
