This New Spot In Sursock Celebrates All Things Lebanese (Yes, Even Food)

This new spot in Sursock will make you fall in love with Lebanon all over again.

Beit Kanz is a magnificent Beiruti house built sometime between 1880 and 1940. It was been restored by Beit el Baraka after being severely damaged by the port blast in 2020.

Now standing as a cultural hub, Beit Kanz pays homage to Lebanese culture as it brings together pieces of our heritage from all over Lebanon.

Their kitchen aims to revive traditional recipes using only Lebanese products packed from rural communities in the country. Many producers, especially women, are given the chance to give back to their communities with their Mouneh, which you can also shop at Beit Kanz. There are currently about 1,000 women from 53 villages in Lebanon contributing to this project!

The café is also entirely Lebanese, with furniture, serving pots, and plates crafted by talented Lebanese artisans with special needs in Beirut, Chouf, and Tripoli.

This project aims to create job opportunities for the beneficiaries, enabling them with the necessary skills to become independent and give back to their communities.

You can watch this video to see how the building was beautifully restored!

Drop by Beit Kanz to experience a piece of Lebanon, and check out their website for more information about this amazing project.
