Chicago The Musical Coming To Lebanon And In Arabic!

The longest running musical on Broadway is making its way across the Atlantic and into the theaters of Lebanon. This local adaptation features local actors taking on the iconic Broadway roles, and all in Arabic.

The musical is based on a 1926 play of the same name, and focuses on the world of crime in jazz age Chicago. It focuses on some of the famous criminals of the era, and the ineffectiveness of the local justice system. We can clearly see some similarities there.

The Arabic adaptation will see Ilias Christophordis star as Fred, with Youmna Bou Hadir taking on the role of Mama Morton (Mama Dunya in Arabic). They will be joined by Fouad Yammine as Amos Hart (Amin Nar), and Cynthia Karam as Roxie Hart (Nancy Nar). Finally, Mirva Kadi will play Velma Kelly (Salma Fehmi) alongside Roy el Khouri as Billy Flynn (Wael Hurr).

More details about the show should follow soon. You can keep up with the production on their Instagram page.
