Online Petition Aims to Bring Justice to Whiskey

As Beirut.com reported on Monday, a dog named Whiskey was shot on the corniche in a horrific incident that has caused outrage among animal activists in Lebanon. Today we’ve learned that a petition was created to bring the shooter to justice.

Directed to President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati, the petition has already garnered over a thousand signatures, with its goal of 2,500 nearly in reach.

If you’re on the fence as to whether or not to add your name, read the below and consider carefully. These kinds of things happen on a daily basis and oppressors do not receive any kind of punishment. Animal welfare laws—or lack thereof—need to be addressed…and soon.

“Sign this petition if you think that Lebanon should be safe for people to walk along their beautiful seaside, without fear that they, their families and their pets will be randomly killed and shot.”
