Health Minister To Local Media: “Cabinet has resigned.”
Minister of Health Hamad Hassan has confirmed that the cabinet has officially resigned after much speculation, as he left the Grand Serail moments ago.
He had been attending a cabinet session that was presumably held to discuss the probable resignation of the current government after the devastating Beirut blast, following individual resignations from several ministers including Minister of Information Manal Abdel Samad, Minister of Environment Damianos Khattar, Minister of Justice Marie-Claude Njeim, and prior to the blast, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nassif Hitti.
Thus far, there has been no official commentary from Prime Minister Hassan Diab who is expected to give a live speech at 7:30 PM today.
