Chairman Of MEA: “No Suspension Of Flights To/From The UK”

With emerging news of a mutated, more contagious strain of the coronavirus spreading across the UK, countries all over the world have rushed to suspend flights to/from the country… except for Lebanon.

Last night on Sar El Waet, chairman and director general of Middle East Airlines Mohammad El Hout announced that they will not be halting flights, but that people coming in from the UK will be required to take two PCR tests.

This comes amid rising global panic over the new strain of the virus which is still being studied. And because Lebanon is doing such a GREAT job fighting the pandemic, they’re now ready to take it to the next level.

Caretaker minister of health Hamad Hassan made a public announcement stating that he recommended suspending flights and enforcing 5 days of quarantine for current arrivals.

But with the government’s poor measures, the people’s lack of adherence, and the health sector’s fragility, we can only imagine where we’re headed.
