Minister Of Interior Announces Election Dates For Local And Expat Voters

Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi announced that he has signed the decree setting the voting dates for expats and Lebanese residing in the country for May 2022.

Lebanese residing in the country will vote for their MPs on May 15. Those residing abroad will vote the week before, Interior Minister says.

Interior Minister says he signed the decree with the dates today.

The dates are as follows:

For Lebanese residing in Lebanon – Sunday May 15, 2022

For expats – Friday, May 6 or Sunday May 8, 2022, depending on whether the date coincides with the official holiday in the countries in which polling is taking place.

It was recently announced that expats will be able to vote for 128 MPs instead of 6, after their voting rights were deliberated back in September.
