Lebanese Shawarma Ranked 3rd Best Sandwich In The World

Taste Atlas is back, and they just dropped their rankings for the best sandwiches in the world. Are we even surprised that Lebanese shawarma was in the top 3?

Topping the list is Vietnamese Bánh mi, with Turkish Tombik döner ranking second (rude) and Lebanese shawarma at third. Though we believe our shawarma should be first on the list, we’re ecstatic that Lebanese food is getting the appreciation it deserves.

We’re not sure what American grilled cheese is even doing on that list alongside all these delicious sandwiches. In our humble opinion, it doesn’t even stand a chance.

Back in May 2023, Lebanon took over their list of best rated dips in the world with Mtabbal (#1), Toum (#2), and Hummus Beiruti (#3), as well as Baba ghannouj (#15). Yes, we know they’re not dips but it doesn’t make the list any less accurate for ranking them among the best.
