You know you’re in the middle east when wall graffiti looks like this.

Captured and tweeted by @JoesBox this photo commemorates centuries of Arabic calligraphy, but in a contemporary twist. Graffiti is largely regarded as a modern form of art, calligraphy, as an ancient one. This photo creates the perfect combination of the old and the new, celebrating art in its entirety.

Plastered on a wall in Charles Helou Station, I’ve got to admit… I’ve got no idea what this writing says. But I can definitely appreciate it for its aesthetic beauty.
