Meet The Only Lebanese Female Athlete To Participate In The 2018 Winter Games

The 2018 Winter Olympics are well underway in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and will be held until February 25th. This year’s games featured several Lebanese athletes including two alpine skiers and one cross-country skier.

Of the three athletes competing in this year’s games, Natacha Mohbat’s participation makes her the only Lebanese female athlete to have participated in the competition.

She completed two runs as of February 16, and we’re incredibly proud of her accomplishments. She has previously competed in two alpine skiing world championships, including the Vail Championships in Colorado, USA in 2015, and another in Schladming, Austria two years prior.

Mohbat was born in 1996, and began skiing at the tender age of four. She derived her passion from her father’s love for the mountains that she witnessed growing up, and Alexandre, her brother, represented Lebanon in alpine skiing event at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, meaning that their knack for the difficult sport definitely runs in the family.

We’re so proud to have seen the accomplishments of the Lebanese athletes at this year’s Olympic games, and look forward to seeing more talented individuals like Natacha performing in the years to come.
