17 Things Every Lebanese Person Wonders When They Visit England For The First Time

If you’ve never been to England and visit for the first time, you’re sure to have a lot of questions. Here are some of them.

1. “Why is everything so small?”

Especially outside of London, doorways are so small you’ll wonder if Lebanese people are exceptionally large or if British people are exceptionally small.

2. “Why did the waiter bring me a 7up when I asked for a lemonade?”

Some things will never make sense, and this is one of them. In England lemonade is 7Up and 7Up is lemonade.

3. “Where’s the sun though?”

4. And when the sun comes out, “why is everyone naked?”

5. “Where’s the waiter?”

Most visitors aren’t used to the fact that at a lot of restaurants in England you’ll have to do the ordering yourself, at the bar, and pay before you eat. So there will usually be an awkward moment where a Lebanese family is just sitting at a table at a restaurant with no food, no drinks, and not a clue about what to do.

6. “Why is everyone asking me if I’m alright? Do I look sick?”

“You alright???”

7. “How the f do I get to Camden?”

8. “Why is math called maths?”

Is there more than one math?

9. “Why are fries called chips?”

10. “Where can I get a man’oushe?”

11. “WTF is Pimm’s?”

And why is it always Pimm’s o’clock?

12. “Is Arabic the official language of Knightsbridge?”

Nope, that’s Edgware Road.

13. “Why can’t I eat anything after 6 PM?”

If you want to go to the corner store, do it before the clock strikes 6.

14. “Why is there a woman in my head constantly telling me to mind my step?”

Who are you and why are you living in my head?

15. “Are a Quid and a Pound the same thing?”

Yup.

16. “WTF is a crumpet?”

No, it’s not a musical instrument.

17. “How have I ever lived without Primark?”
