Syndicate Of Bakeries To Stop Distributing Bread To Stores
The Lebanon Syndicate of Bakeries announced yesterday, Thursday that they would no longer be distributing bread to supermarkets and stores, and limit the availability of bread solely to bakeries.
The decision was taken after the Minister of Economy and Trade Raoul Nehme refused to allow bakeries to raise the price of bread to account for rising import costs as they have been demanding an increase in the selling price (as bread in Lebanon has a fixed and subsidized price).
