In the past decade, a multitude of international stars and celebrities have visited Lebanon. They often look out-of-place along our everyday Lebanese scenes, creating funny, awkward, and weird images that are really worth the overpriced tickets they’re probably trying to sell here. Here are 13 a-list stars that have made a trip to Beirut, and the offbeat photos that accompanied their visit.
1. Angelina Jolie
It’s so weird seeing her standing next to Michel Suleiman, this shouldn’t be allowed.
2. The Weeknd
The Weeknd attended agent Wissam Saliba’s wedding to Rima Fakih in Lebanon alongside French Montana and blessed us with his rendition of “shu ya shleke“.

3. Shakira
You didn’t forget about this trip, but you probably forgot she posed with Sethrida Gegea. Brain-breaking stuff.
4. Roberto Carlos
Lebanese presidents do be just doing anything in office.
5. Salma Hayek
Sethrida is just going around collecting these celebrities, and then posing for the most awkward pics of all time.
6. Lana Del Rey
Her iconic performance at the Byblos International Festival is really a perfect encapsulation of 2013 Beirut.

7. Carles Puyol
And of course Moussa Hojjeij tried to get into a fight with him.
8. Paul Scholes
No one this pale should be allowed to cross border control.
9. Luis Figo (is a Nejmeh fan)
Whichever Nejmeh fan got all of these players to pose with a Nejmeh flag is doing great great stuff.
10. Lindsay Lohan
So random.
11. Dua Lipa
The only one on our list that isn’t funny but rather heartwarming is Dua Lipa’s trip, which was for a noble cause with UNICEF. It was impressive how secret and surprising it was.
12. Mohamad Salah
After a long football season, there’s no other place I’d like to holiday than Lebanon either. Great choice king.
13. Ronaldinho
Multiple trips by the king of the football to Beirut International Airport, including one time where he met with President Michel Aoun.
