Lebanon is preparing to welcome Pope Leo XIV for a historic Apostolic Journey from November 30 to December 2nd 2025. The Vatican Press Office has released the full program of the visit, which includes three days of official meetings, spiritual events, and moments of solidarity with the Lebanese people.

Pope Leo XIV will depart Turkey after a farewell ceremony at Atatürk Airport and land in Beirut at 3:45 PM on Sunday. A formal welcome ceremony will take place at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport.
His holiness will then head to the presidential palace and meet with President Joseph Aoun at 4:45 PM, followed by meetings with Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Nawaf. Salam at 5:15 PM and 5:30 PM respectively. At 6:00 PM, the Holy Father will address Lebanese authorities, civil society representatives, and members of the diplomatic corps.
The day begins at 9:45 AM with a visit to the Monastery of Saint Maroun in Annaya, where Pope Leo XIV will pray at the tomb of St Charbel. At 11:20 AM, he heads to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa for a gathering with bishops, priests, consecrated persons, and pastoral workers. A private meeting with Catholic Patriarchs will follow at the Apostolic Nunciature at 12:30 PM.

Pope Leo XIV begins the final day with a visit to staff and patients at De La Croix Hospital (Deir el Saleeb) in Jal El Dib at 8:30 AM. He will then spend a moment in silent prayer at the Beirut Port, honoring the victims of the 2020 explosion, at 9:30 AM. At 10:30 AM, the Holy Father will preside over Holy Mass at the Beirut Waterfront, marking the largest public event of the visit. A farewell ceremony at the airport is scheduled for 12:45 PM, with departure for Rome at 1:15 PM. The Pope is expected to land at Fiumicino Airport later that afternoon.

The official motto of the Apostolic Journey — “Blessed are the peacemakers” — reflects the mission of the visit: to support the Lebanese people, encourage dialogue and reconciliation, and strengthen unity among all communities.
