New Relief Hub Offers Free Mental Health Support for Families Amid War

As war and instability continue to shape daily life across the region, the new digital platform Elggo is stepping in to address a quieter crisis: emotional wellbeing. The company has launched the Elggo Relief Hub, a free online platform providing mental health support for youth, parents, and families, now accessible in Lebanon and several neighboring countries.

Built for the Reality People Are Living

Founded by Luma Makari and Mirna Mneimneh, the platform was created in response to the emotional strain many people are experiencing during the ongoing crisis. Instead of generic wellness tips, the hub aims to offer support that reflects how people in the region actually communicate.

At the center of the platform is a clinically informed AI journal. The tool allows users to privately write about what they are experiencing in Arabic, English, or a mix of both. According to the platform, the journaling feature is designed to help users reflect and process emotions, and is not meant to replace professional care.

A Directory of Local Support Resources

Another key feature is a country-by-country directory of trusted support services. The directory helps users quickly find mental health organizations and resources available in their own country.

Currently, the platform serves users across:

– Lebanon

– UAE

– Saudi Arabia

– Qatar

– Kuwait

– Bahrain

– Jordan

– Oman

All you have to do is select the country you’re in and find all the available mental health services, including psychological support, child and/or clinical psychologists, crisis support, hotlines, and more.

Designed by Someone Who “Understands War”

Elggo co-founder Mirna Mneimneh, who grew up in Lebanon, says they created the platform with the region’s realities in mind. “I grew up in Lebanon. I know what war does to people,” she said.

She noted that most mental health tools available today weren’t built with Arab communities in mind. Co-founder Luma Makari adds, “We’re seeing the mental health space flooded with generic, often inactionable advice, carousel after carousel of tips, and tools that can feel impossible to use when the world seems to be collapsing around you.”

Their directory is free and open to everyone. You can click here to browse through it and learn about available local mental health services. For more information about this initiative, make sure to follow their Instagram!
