Amid the ongoing war and the difficult circumstances facing Lebanon, the Ministry of Telecommunications is preparing to launch a new initiative to support students learning remotely.
Following direct guidance from Telecommunications Minister Charbel Hajj, mobile operators Alfa Telecom and Touch Lebanon telecom operator will soon introduce a special free internet package dedicated to online education. The initiative aims to support students who have been displaced or are unable to safely reach their schools during the current situation.
According to the information shared so far, the package will provide 20GB of free internet. The internet will be available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. It covers the hours when most schools conduct online lessons.
Access will be limited to educational platforms used for remote learning. This includes Microsoft Teams and the Madrasti educational platform, along with any additional platforms approved by the Ministry of Education.
The goal of the initiative is to help students continue their education despite the ongoing disruptions caused by the war. The ministry hopes to ensure that students across Lebanon can still attend their classes and stay connected.
More details about the launch and how students can access the package are expected to be announced soon. For more updates like this, check out the #News section on our website.
