New Online Eco-Friendly Store In Beirut, Support Local Production And The Reduction Of Plastic Waste

A new online store is launching next week, May 2nd in Lebanon and it’s offering a fresh take on the way mouneh is done. La Famille Eco is an eco-friendly grocery store that sells all kinds of Lebanese “mouneh” (grains, legumes, juices, etc.) all in plastic free containers.

The idea is that you will purchase the jars once (each costing around $1), and then it becomes an exchange of jars; they give you the new jar with your order and you return the old. There will be no use of plastic whatsoever as they aim to reduce the plastic waste that grocery shopping generates.

They offer free delivery in Beirut, and charge 3,000 L.L. for deliveries to Jal el Dib, Antelias, Zalka and other areas surrounding the capital. Orders will be delivered within a maximum of 24 hours, and there’s also a loyalty program in place so you get points on each order, which you can later exchange for discounts and gifts.

By buying from this store, you are reducing the terrible waste problem related to plastic usage in Lebanon, and you’re directly assisting in the promotion of local goods and products as most of the mouneh has been made in villages around the country.
