Young Man Dies After Being Shot During Tripoli Clashes

Omar Farouk Taiba, a name we should not soon forget. Omar was shot during the Tripoli clashes last night and sadly died this morning. He was only 30 years old, fighting to his right to work amid brutal economic conditions.

For the third night in a row, protestors in Tripoli tackled security forces who responded with tear gas, water cannons, and even live ammunition.

Omar was transferred to Al-Nini Hospital after getting shot in the back, but due to multiple injuries, he passed away today morning.

We offer our sincerest condolences to Omar’s family. He’s yet another victim who lost his life trying to fight the corrupt system.
