Blast Trauma Resurfaces With New Fire At Beirut Port

Fire and port are two words we never want to hear in the same sentence again.

Earlier today, at around 6:07 pm (same time the blast went off), verified footage of a fire at the Beirut port was circulating on social media.

Residents all over the city rushed to open their doors and windows and steer clear of any glass windows and doors for fear of going through what they went through on August 4th.

It wasn’t until later that we discovered that the fire was intentionally caused by Civil Defense teams who were clearing up rubble and remnants from the blast. This was done in compliance with the Lebanese Army, who explained that fire fighters were available at the scene and have now extinguished the flames.

This comes after the Lebanese Army found 4.35 tonnes of ammonium nitrate near the port last week, another worrying piece of news.
